In one sentence

Laume is a map of sealed letters: people leave letters at real places, and a letter only opens for someone standing within 50 meters of where it was left.

How it works

1. Someone stands somewhere that matters to them and writes a letter there. It is sealed to that spot.

2. Others see sealed letters on the map, but they can't read them from home.

3. Walk there. Within 50 meters, the seal breaks and the letter opens.

4. Reply, start a chain, or leave your own letter nearby. Every opened letter is added to your personal map of places.

What makes it different

• The letter belongs to the place. There is no way to read it from far away, and the 50 m rule is checked on the server.

• No live location sharing and no background tracking. Your position is only used to check the distance when you try to open a letter.

• No follower counts on the map and no fake activity. The founding letters were written by the Laume team.

• A quieter alternative to love locks and graffiti: leave something at a place without damaging it.
